The European Joint Master's Programme in English and American Studies is a full-time programme offered by eight partner universities: the University of Bamberg, Universitat Autònoma de Barcelona (UAB), University of Graz, Jagiellonian University in Kraków, Université Paris Cité, University of Pécs, The City College of New York, and Ca’ Foscari University of Venice. These institutions collaborate to provide an international curriculum with a regional focus. The programme comprises 120 ECTS credits, corresponding to at least four semesters or two years of study.
The UAB joined the Programme a few years ago and has signed agreements with the University of Bamberg and Ca’ Foscari. It is currently negotiating agreements with the University of Graz and Jagiellonian University in Kraków. If you select UAB as your entrance university (where you will be officially enrolled) and either the University of Bamberg or Ca’ Foscari as your mobility partner, you will begin and complete your programme at the UAB. As part of the requirements of the programme, students must earn at least 60 ECTS credits at the UAB (45 ECTS from coursework and 15 ECTS from the MA thesis), and at least 30 ECTS at their mobility university. Additionally, 30 ECTS credits are earned for the MA thesis during the integrated mobility semester, which is mandatory for graduation.
This Joint Programme has been successfully educating students for over a decade and offers a unique opportunity for students in English and American Studies to gain international academic experience at two renowned European universities. Students interested in applying must submit applications to both the Joint Master’s Programme in English and American Studies and the Master’s in English Studies at UAB.
