Accreditation

Characteristics 
Semi-online mode courses are courses with a certain number of face-to-face hours and a certain number of additional hours of independent distance work; these hours vary by level. In most courses, autonomous learning hours are high. Face-to-face courses emphasises attendance-based activity among participants.

Semi-online mode
- Elementary Semi-online (B1) and Intermediate Semi-online (B2): 24 hours (and autonomous learning).
- Prepare for C1 Exam and Prepare for C2 Exam: 12 hours (and autonomous learning).

Face-to-face mode
- Beginner and Basic (A2): 30 hours
- Elementary (B1), Intermediate (B2), Sufficiency (C1) and Advanced (C2): 60 hours

Additional information
Elementary Semi-online (B1), Intermediate Semi-online (B2), Prepare for C1 Exam and Prepare for C2 Exam courses have the support of an online teacher.
All courses include CIFALC exam.

* The total amount is the price of the course plus administrative management fees (€40).

- Courses A2 to C2 include the official exam CIFALC (Inter-University Commission for Language Training and Accreditation of Catalonia).

- Catalan courses are 100% or partially subsidised for the UAB university community, depending on the level and group: students, teaching and research staff, PTGAS. The prices published on this page are those to be paid by the person enrolling, once the subsidy has been applied.

- The subsidised price can only be used once per level, i.e. if a person re-enrols in the same level they must pay the price of the course without the subsidy.

- The second enrolments and subsequent registrations have a bonus of €40
- The PDI of the UAB has a subsidy of 100% of the amount of all the courses of Catalan.
- Associated University Community has a 15% disccount on external prices.
- Returned receipts and refunds incur a handling fee payable by the bank account holder. The amount of this handling fee is € 2.50.

Enrolment on-site 

To enrol on a language-level course at UAB Idiomes Campus you need to show a certificate to confirm you have passed the previous level or else take a level test.

UAB Idiomes reserves the right to cancel a group if a minimum number of students has not enrolled.

UAB Idiomes offers you the following facilities and discounts for enrolment:

UAB Idiomes Campus

15% discount on the less/least expensive course fee if you study more than one language.
15% discount for single-parent families.
15 % discount for victims of gender-based violence or terrorism.
15% discount for officially recognised “large families” (currently, three or more children).
 15% discount for those who have presented accreditation of their economic situation with a view to paying fees as a grant holder and who fulfil the requirements.  

Attention important:

1. The discounts are non-cumulative.
2. The proof of the discount requested must be provided at the time of enrollment or within 10 calendar days after the enrollment.

The UAB is offering 80 grants to students taking undergraduate studies, official Masters (70) and PhD studies to study with the Language Service during the current academic year.

10 grants are reserved for those who are not currently registered at the UAB and who will finalise their enrolment for courses at the Language Service in the next academic year.

The UAB is also offering 40 grants for intensive summer courses organised by the Language Service during the moth of July.

Grants for the third languages programme (PARLA3)
 
If you are in the first, second or third year of your Bachelor’s degree at the UAB you can apply for a grant to study and certificate levels A1 and B1, and sublevels B2.1 and B2.2 of English, German, French or Italian or to take the B2 exam in any of those languages.
 
The Generalitat de Catalunya is awarding grants for the accreditation of level B2 in third languages for students who started their degree course for the first time in 2014-2015.
 
The programme includes three types of grant: Mode Alevel accreditation and Mode B and Mode Cfor taking a course if you haven’t yet got level B2. if you want to apply for a grant, click the links.

Language call for applications

In 2020 the UAB is offering a series of language grants within the provisions of the university’s Plan for Languages, available to the different groups: academic staff, administration and services staff and students


Language learning grants for students doing curricular internships abroad
 
Bachelors and Master’s degree students and PhD students registered in any of the centres of the UAB who can accredit having a curricular internship abroad and certify that they have taken a language course can apply for a grant for their language studies.
 
Language learning grants for academic staff

This call for applications is for academic staff language learning and There are two types of grant for lecturers at the UAB who want to improve their knowledge of foreign languages generally and those who specifically want to improve their English in order to promote teaching using this language at the university.
 
Grants for the correction of teaching materials in English and Catalan

To assist in the correction of Catalan and English materials used by lecturers who teach in these languages on undergraduate and master's degree courses. To assist in the correction of course guides written in these two languages for any UAB subject, irrespective of the language in which it is delivered.
 
Call for grant applications for organising events on language diversity management in UAB classrooms

As the UAB and its students become more and more international in nature, lecturers often have to cope with classes that are highly diverse in terms of languages and cultures. These grants aim to help in organising conferences and seminars, to be held in 2020, for lecturers to share their experiences in managing diversity in UAB classrooms or research groups.

Call for applications for AIDA Programme grants: Grants for the Intensification of Teaching in English (English as a Medium of Instruction at the UAB Programme, academic year 2020-2021)

To finance the participation of teaching and research staff of the UAB who have to give their classes in English on the Teaching Support programme. The programme is divided into four actions: 1) Intensive English for Academic Staff course; 2) English as a Medium of Instruction (EMI) Intensive Training; 3) Teaching practice: class observation and tutorial; 4) Accreditation.
