The programmes take place during the UAB term periods:

• First term: September - February
• Second term: February - July

• 1st Term (September to February): From March 15 to June 14
• 2nd Term (February to July): From September 16 to November 15

Admission requirements

To access these courses, it is necessary to provide the following documentation:

• A scanned copy of your home university Official Academic Transcript. You must be enrolled at a university and must have completed at least 2 semesters before applying to this programme.
• List of subjects including the code, the term, the number of credits and the language of instruction (if more than one is available).
• Photocopy of your valid passport.
• Students who are not native Spanish or English speakers and want to join subjects held in these languages, must provide a certificate of Level B2 or equivalent.

Academic accommodations 
It is important that you provide us your academic accommodations before the start of the programme, so we are able to ensure you have the resources needed. Please note that we cannot guarantee you will have access to the accommodations requested if you don’t submit these prior the beginning of the programme. You can send your accommodations to study.abroad@uab.cat once you have completed your enrolment

The UAB is spread across a large campus in Bellaterra (Cerdanyola del Vallès).

The main Bellaterra campus is home to the Selected Courses. It is located in a very beautiful natural setting with green, open spaces and woods. It is situated at the nerve centre of one of the main hubs of industrial and technological development of Mediterranean Europe, and excellently connected to Barcelona by road and public transport.

It is one of the few purpose-built Spanish universities where the different academic, cultural and social activities happen in one place. In addition to studying, teaching and carrying out research, here people can also live on campus in the Vila Universitària halls of residence, with more than 2,000 accommodation places.

Apart from the centres for teaching and research, the UAB campus provides all kinds of additional services, including libraries, a language-learning centre, own cultural activities, sports facilities, restaurants and bars, hotel, a health centre, bookshops and various other shops, making the campus a genuine community where studying takes place in an atmosphere of friendship and solidarity between students and teachers from around the world.

Any foreign student coming to a Catalan university must have medical insurance cover.

If you are from outside of the European Economic Area, you should check whether there is an agreement for healthcare between the Social Security of your country and the Social Security of Spain. If there is such an agreement, you should submit the necessary documents in your country so that you can have free access to Spanish public healthcare.

In the case of renewing your Residence Card (NIE, TIE) you have to check if the above mentioned document replaces the obligation to present a private medical insurance regarding illness and accidents (Social Security does not include the repatriation to your home country). For more information, contact the ISS.

If your country has no healthcare agreement with the Spanish Social Security system, you should take out private insurance cover for the whole time of your stay in Spain.

The private medical insurances need to ensure no less than 100.000 euros in the basic services (hospitalization, cover for repatriation to home country, cover for COVID-19, etc.), without gaps of coverage or co-payments.
