The UAB organises the International Workshop on Computational Nanotechnology

Figura adaptada d'ACS Nano 2021, 15, 8, 12945-12954

The 22nd edition of the conference will take place from 12 to 16 June 2023 at the Casa Convalescència and will serve to present and debate current trends and future directions in computational nanotechnology in the simulation of nanostructures, nanomaterials and nanodevices. An eminently interdisciplinary field involving areas such as electronics, engineering, physics, applied mathematics, chemistry and biology. The deadlines to present proposals and participate can already be consulted.

The International Workshop on Computational Nanotechnology (IWCN) will be organised i a single-session format with different guest speakers, oral presentations, special sessions, forums and poster presentations on a variety of topics. This year's edition will focus on multiscale and multiphysics simulations; simulation of nanodevice processing and performance; electronic structure calculations; computational design, simulations of electronic, optical and mechanical properties of nanostructures; simulations of electronic, thermal, spin and molecular transport processes; first principles calculations in the context of transport studies; and novel architectures for nanodevices.

On 11 and 12 June, immediately before the IWCN, a satellite workshop entitled the International Wigner Workshop (IWW) will take place to discuss the application of the Wigner function in the descirption of several quantum processes in the fields of physics, chemistry and engineering.

In addition to a team of experts from the UAB, coordinated by Department of Electronic Engineering Professor Xavier Oriols, this year's edition of the IWCN has included the collaboration of researchers from the Catalan Institute of Nanoscience and Nanotechnology (ICN2), the Materials Science Institute of Barcelona (ICMAB-CSIC) and the universities of Salamanca, Granada and Santiago de Compostela.
