University teaching challenges at the CIDUI 2025

From 9 to 11 July 2025 the 13th edition of the International Congress on University Teaching and Innovation (CIDUI) will be held at the Faculty of Economics and Business of the University of Barcelona. The congress is organised by the Catalan Association of Public Universities (ACUP) and the innovation and training units of the eight Catalan public universities (UB, UAB, UPC, UPF, UdG, UdL, URV and UOC).

This year, under the titled “Lecturers of Today for the University of Tomorrow”, the congress aims to create a space for analysis and reflection on the challenges facing university teaching today, seeking innovative and evaluable solutions. It will focus on four key areas: the professional development of teaching staff, teaching methodologies and learning experiences, the student body and university life, and the university as an engine of social transformation.

These challenges include the need to reinforce teacher development and training programmes, promote collaboration between the different actors involved in the training process, and seek new procedures for evaluating the quality of teaching.

This year's edition of the CIDUI focuses on the integration of emerging technologies in higher education institutions (artificial intelligence, blockchain, etc.), the promotion of continuous and flexible training, and the importance of vindicating the fundamental missions of the university in terms of equity, inclusion and sustainability.

Registration for the 13th CIDUI 2025 Congress can be made through the Conftool platform, available on this website, until 20 June 2025. A reduced rate is offered for general and student registrations, valid until 16 May 2025.
