EFECTE UNI: A Step Forward in Tackling Addictions in University Settings
On Friday, 25th October, the EFECTE UNI platform convened at the UAB for a working session of its Best Practices Work Group. The FAS Health Programme is an active participant in this initiative.
EFECTE UNI brings together organisations dedicated to reducing risks related to drug use and behavioural addictions in university environments. The platform is coordinated by the Subdirectorate General for Addictions, HIV, STIs, and Viral Hepatitis of the Catalan Public Health Agency, which provides technical support.
The work session took place at UAB's ECIU space on 25th October 2024, from 10 am to 12 pm, with attendees including representatives from Educació per l’Acció Crítica, En Plenes Facultats (FSyC), Tu Punto (PDS), Àmbit Prevenció, and El Xiringu (FAS). Other members who could not attend were also actively involved in the initiative.
Currently, the Best Practices Work Group is focusing its efforts on developing preventive materials to address the risks associated with the recreational use of psychotropic drugs. These substances are increasingly present in the consumption habits of young people, posing significant challenges to public health.
