If I were a refugee student, how would my life be?
To mark World Human Rights Day, which is commemorated on December 10th, the Welcome Programme of the Fundació Autònoma Solidària (FAS) organised an awareness-raising activity about the human rights violations experienced by people in global transit.
Under the title “If I were a refugee student, how would my life be?”, student volunteers and the FAS team held a workshop in the Plaça Cívica of the Universitat Autònoma de Barcelona (UAB), aimed at dismantling the myths around the living conditions of refugee students through a ludic-reflective space. Some thirty students visited the space to share experiences and reflections related to the issue of forced migrations and the violation of rights.
In addition, an expert on the subject of armed conflicts and gender from the School for a Culture of Peace (ECP) of the UAB, María Villellas, also attended, resolving doubts and sharing concerns about active global armed conflicts and their impact from a gender perspective.
With the support of the Catalan Agency for Development Cooperation, this action is part of the Welcome Programme for people seeking refuge at the UAB, coordinated by the FAS.
