The 6th Edition of the European Colloquium on Gender and Translation is coming to the UAB this summer
The Faculty of Translation and Interpreting at the UAB is hosting the 6th edition of the European Colloqium on Gender & Translation this summer, with the theme of “Encounters between Intersectional Feminisms and Translation & Interpreting”. This scholarly event will take place between the 8th and 10th of July 2025, following the success of previous editions held in other European cities.

As explained by Dr Olga Castro, Dr Gonzalo Iturregui-Gallardo and Dr Lupe Romero, from the local organising committee, the conference seeks to put an emphasis on intersectional feminisms to overcome traditional approches to debates about gender and translation.
By considering gender as a multidimensional category that necessarily intersects with race, ethnicity, sexuality, (dis)ability, age, class or religion, the sixth edition of this scholarly event invites submissions of abstracts for 20-minute papers discussing intersectionality, feminisms and translation & interpreting. More generally, the colloquium aims at opening a forum for discussion and reflection on the contribution offered by practitioners, stakeholders and scholars to the study of translation and interpreting as activism and an agent of change.
Those interested in sending an abstract can do so until the 15th of December, by completing this form.
