The UAB is sad to announce the death of lecturer Natalia Novosilzov
Natalia Novosilzov was lecturer of the Department of Translation and Interpreting & East Asian Studies, and director of the EUTI from 1982 to 1988. She passed away on 25 December 2025. The UAB would like to extend its most sincere condolences to her family and friends, and to all of those who knew her, and expresses its sadness in having lost a member of its community.

Lecturer Natalia Novosilzov taught Russian language and Russian translation at the Faculty of Translation and Interpreting (FTI), and also wrote books on Russian art and painting. From 1982 to 1988 she was the director of EUTI (University School of Translators and Interpreters) and her work was instrumental in turning the University School into a faculty.
The FTI will always remember "Natalia Novosilzov with great affection since she was highly respected and admired by both members of the teaching and administrative staff of the EUTI and later of the Faculty of Translation and Interpreting".
