The UAB, present at the NAFSA conference 2024: "Resilience. Renewal. Community".

The delegation, led by the vice-rector, held a multitude of bilateral meetings to deepen internationalisation at the UAB.

NAFSA 2024 takes place in New Orleans under the motto “Resilience. Renewal. Community”.

The Universitat Autònoma de Barcelona participates in the 76th edition of the International Higher Education Conference of the Association of International Educators, NAFSA 2024, which is held annually in the United States. This year, it takes place in New Orleans under the motto “Resilience. Renewal. Community”.

The UAB participates by presenting the diverse internationalisation programmes: UAB Barcelona Summer School, International Tracks, and the diverse exchange programmes, as well as the Study Abroad programmes managed by the FUAB.

During the development of the conference, the UAB delegation has held interviews with representatives from around 30 universities worldwide. These meetings aimed to expand the network and establish new relationships with world-class educational institutions, while also contributing to collaborative research and innovation. Additionally, a meeting was held with the California system through the CIC (Inter-University Council of Catalonia).

The delegation of the Universitat Autònoma de Barcelona is led by Vice-Rector for International Relations and Language Policy Laura Santamaria, director of the International Relations Area (ARI) Katja Schustakowitz, institutional officer of the ARI Montserrat Alegre, international coordinator of the Fundació Universitat Autònoma de Barcelona Richard Turner, and Rebecca Swanson, director of the Study Abroad programme.
