Students interested in studying or working in companies or institutions abroad between 30 June 2023 and 30 September 2024 can apply, starting on 27 April, for grants under the Erasmus+ Work Placement and UAB Exchange Programme Traineeships to help fund their stay. The call is already available on the new website launched by the UAB Employability Service (Ocupabilitat) and provides all the information in a clear and interactive manner.

Erasmus+ Pràctiques i UAB Exchange Programme Traineeships

The Erasmus programme has expanded the profiles of people with fewer opportunities who can obtain additional funding

Erasmus+ Internships is the leading programme if the destination is a European country, although it allows internships all over the world with a minimum duration of three months. These internships can be curricular, extracurricular and as a graduate. This year, the Erasmus programme's inclusion strategy has expanded the profiles of people with fewer opportunities who can obtain additional funding, which now also include people with serious illnesses, with exemption from tuition fees and other situations.

As for the UAB Exchange Programme Traineeships, it allows curricular and extracurricular internships in any country in the world with a duration of 30 days or more. This year, the signing of agreements within the framework of this programme will be carried out with a biometric digital signature system that allows the document to be signed telematically from any electronic device, which will facilitate the procedures.

New website, more intutitve and with a grants simulator

The UAB Employability Service, in charge of managing both programmes, has launched a new website that presents in a clear, visual and interactive manner all the information related to this call for grants for stays abroad. Apart from detailing the requirements for beneficiaries, the steps to follow to make the application, or the required documents, the new website incorporates, as a novelty, a grants simulator.

In this simulator, students can enter their current studies programme, the country they want to go to and for how long to find out which grants programme they should apply for.

With these programmes, the UAB promotes the international mobility of its students, aware of its importance for their professional future: according to the Erasmus Impact Study, 64% of employers believe that having a mobility experience is an important factor when hiring people.

Erasmus+ Traineeships is part of the European Commission's Erasmus+ mobility programme, and SEPIE (Spanish Service for the Internationalisation of Education) distributes its funds in Spain. The UAB Exchange Programme Traineeships, on the other hand, is an exclusive programme specific to the University that offers more flexibility in the duration of stays.
