The UAB ranks among the top 200 universities worldwide according to QS

The UAB ranks 175 worldwide in the QS World University Rankings.

The UAB continues to position itself among the top 200 universities in the world according to the QS World University Rankings 2025, with a global position of 175. Therefore, the UAB is now positioned among the top 12% of universities worldwide.

By indicators, the UAB stands out in 114th position globally in Sustainability (86.7 points out of 100), 105th in Academic Reputation (64 points), 116th in International Research Network (93.1 points) and 206th in Citations per academic (59.5 points). Also noteworthy is the fact that the UAB has advanced 151 positions in the Employment Outcomes indicator, where it now ranks 472nd worldwide.

With regards to other universities in Spain, the ranking is led by the Complutense University of Madrid, in position 164, followed by the University of Barcelona, which ranks 165. The UAB ranks third and is followed by the Autonomous University of Madrid and the University of Navarre. The global ranking is led by the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT), the Imperial College London and the University of Oxford.

To conduct the ranking, a total of 5,663 higher education institutions from 106 countries were evaluated, of which the 1,503 top universities (35 of them from Spain) were classified. QS directly requests data from the latest academic year (2023-2024) and obtains the number of citations for the past six years from information in Elsevier's scientific database Scopus.
