Corneal trauma: diagnosis, follow-up and treatment. Surgical techniques: indications, complications and results. Conjunctival surgery, sclero-corneal limbus surgery, Corneal Surgery: Lamellar and penetrating keratoplasty, endothelial keratoplasty, corneal cross-linking, amniotic membrane transplantation. Related eyelid surgery. Corneal surgery assisted by Femtosecond laser.
Dry eye: Evaluation and treatment methods: Clinical Aspects. Diagnostic methods (Schimer Test, Bengal Rose and Lisamine Green, Osmolarity Test). Topical medical treatment and oral medical treatment. Surgical procedures.
Refractive Surgery: Evaluation methods: Basic principles: refraction (objective, automatic subjective). Corneal topography methods (projection and elevation), pachymetry, confocal microscopy, optical quality evaluation methods (wavefront, other methods, OCT. Visual acuity, age, pachymetry, topography, aberrometry, pupil, refraction.
Corneal Refractive Surgery: Basic principles and surgical techniques: Corneal refractive surgery: corneal biomechanics, morphological response, laser technology applied to the cornea. Incisional surgery (astigmatism), lamellar surgery (LASIK), PRK, intracorneal rings, intracorneal lenses. Indications and results.
Intraocular Refractive Surgery: Basic principles: refraction (objective, automatic subjective). Corneal topography methods (projection and elevation), pachymetry, confocal microscopy,optical quality evaluation methods (wavefront, other methods, OCT. Surgical techniques. Lens surgery, phakic lenses of anterior and posterior chamber. Indications and results.
Tumors of the Ocular Surface: Diagnostic, follow-up and treatment methods. Indications and results. Histochemical evaluation and other non-invasive evaluation tests.
Introduction to research methodology: writing the research protocol, organizations and documentation for the submission of research projects to ethics committees and regulatory entities, analysis of results and dissemination and good clinical practice standards.
Master's Thesis: Depending on the student's interest, it can be either a research project or clinical case analysis.
