Chronology of the project

Main stages

In the 2017-2018 academic year, the Universitat Autònoma de Barcelona began a process of strategic reflection with a long-term horizon. Initially, the objective was to define an ambitious vision of how we would like the UAB to be in 2030.

The project has been conceived as a highly participatory process, in order to have a strong involvement of the different actors making up the UAB community. This will then facilitate that the result obtained be widely shared amongst its members.

The process so far has been structured into the following stages:

Diagnosis:

2016

  • 15 December: the University Senate approves the implementation of a process of strategic reflection to define the university which should exist in 2030.

2017

  • 20 October: qualitative survey for managers of the PDI and the PAS.
  • 30 October: context brainstorming. {
  • 6 November: workshop with people outside the UAB.
  • 14 November: internal workshop with the Governing Team.
  • 29 November: internal workshop with the transfer engine team.
  • 30 November: internal workshop with the motor team of Governance, Organization and External Projection.
  • 30 November: internal workshop with the teaching engine team.
  • 11 December: internal workshop with the Campus motor team.
  • 11 December: internal workshop with the community motor team.
  • 13 December: internal workshop with the research engine team.
  • 19 December: workshop with UAB students.

2018

  • 19 January: Internal workshop on governance.
  • February: drafting of the synthesis document of the diagnostic phase: "Vision UAB 2030".
  • June and July 2018: survey on the prioritisation of key elements.
  • 6, 18 and 20 July: open validation sessions on strategic lines and objectives.
  • October 2018: presentations of the "Strategic Plan 2030: strategic lines and objectives”.

Future actions:

2018

  • April: publication of the document "Vision UAB 2030".
  • April-May: collection of opinions and proposals from the university community.
  • May: Redrafting of the document "Vision UAB 2030" based on the contributions received in the publication.
  • June-September: drafting of the Strategic Plan 2019-2030.
  • October-November: presentation of the Strategic Plan to the Senate.
