Get to know the Fund
The Solidarity Fund was set up in 1994 on the wishes of the people who study and work at the UAB and the university itself. Since 2003 it has been managed by the Fundació Autònoma Solidària. The fund is made up of university income and by contributions from teaching and research staff (PDI) administration and services staff (PAS) and students contributions based on the internationally recognised 0.7% ODA/GNI ratio.
These contributions are used for two annual calls for grant applications to promote actions of university cooperation and education for development: one for members of the PDI and the PAS and another for students.
These grant programmes offer support to:
- Projects and other initiatives aimed at developing countries. Priority is given to teaching actions for interuniversity cooperation aimed at strengthening the teaching and research capacities of counterparts in developing countries as well as improving university management.
- Education for development activities in the university community. The main objects of subsidy are proposals focusing on the introduction of content, tools and resources for EfD on the curricula of university studies at the UAB.
- Extraordinary Emergency Campaigns, in accordance with the Protocol for Universities in Situations of Humanitarian Crisis of the CRUE (Conference of rectors of Spanish Universities).
