UAB Alumni East Coast Chapter inaugurated in New York

After Brussels and Beijing, the UAB visited New York on Wednesday 24 May to inaugurate its UAB Alumni East Coast Chapter, a network promoting the exchange of professional experiences among Catalans living on the US East Coast who studied at the Universitat Autònoma de Barcelona (UAB).

The UAB Dance and Theatre workshops premiere their shows

During the month of May, the UAB Theatre will host a series of shows created by the Dance, Theatre and Music classrooms that are the result of the work carried out during this academic year. It is a good opportunity for the UAB community to get to know contemporary theatre and dance free of charge and, at the same time, to promote and raise awareness of new artistic trends.

New "activities on campus" to be held at the UAB on 12 May

On 12 May from 1 to 3 p.m. a series of "activities on campus" will be held, all of which are organised by the UAB teaching centres. These activities can be cultural, participative and/or complementary to the academic courses (conferences, seminars, talks, debates, institutional events, etc.).

The UAB launches the BiciBus UAB

From 17 to 21 April, the UAB launches a new initiative under the name of BiciBus UAB: volunteers that will act as guides and accompany people on bike from different cities to the UAB campus. The goal is to help new bikers discover the routes to be used to get to and from campus. There will be volunteers in Cerdanyola, Sabadell, Sant Quirze, Sant Cugat, Terrassa, Barcelona (Renfe Sant Andreu Arenal) and la Llagosta.

The UAB's 2nd Bioblitz brings together 170 participants who identified an endangered and protected lichen

In the 2023 edition of the UAB's Bioblitz, participants detected for the first time on campus the presence of the lichen Waynea stocechadiana, considered a vulnerable species in Catalonia, in addition to identifying 260 animal and plant species. Thanks to these two editions and other contributions by campus users, the UAB has managed to register 645 different species and conducted almost 1800 observations, which can be consulted at the iNaturalist project "Biodiversitat del campus UAB".
