Admission Official Master's Degree in Sports Management
Access
Access to this master's degree is open to holders of an official bachelor's degree from a Spanish university or from another higher education institution within or outside the European Higher Education Area, provided this gives access to postgraduate studies in the country of issue.Admission requirements
The master’s degree is open to people from one of the following groups:
- GROUP 1: University graduates in the field of Business Administration, Economics, Marketing, Tourism, or equivalent.
- GROUP 2: University graduates in the field of Journalism, Advertising and Public Relations, Audiovisual Communication, or equivalent.
- GROUP 3: University graduates in the field of Physical Activity and Sport Sciences.
- GROUP 4: University graduates in other fields who demonstrate training in the business sphere equivalent to a Master of Business Administration (MBA).
Language requirements:
- English language group: level B2 English of the Common European Framework of Reference for Languages (CEFR)
- Spanish language group: level B2 Spanish of the CEFR*
Candidates who do not demonstrate that they hold a degree included in GROUP 1 may have to take training supplements in the field of accounting, finance, strategic management and/or marketing.
Candidates may have to take the following training supplements, which may vary in accordance with the level of knowledge that they demonstrate in the access test:
Group 2:
- Accounting and Finance 4 ECTS credits
- Economics and Strategic Management 4 ECTS credits
Group 3 and Group 4:
- Accounting and Finance 4 ECTS credits
- Economics and Strategic Management 4 ECTS credits
- Marketing 4 ECTS credits
Candidates from groups 2, 3 and 4 must moreover take a master’s degree access test to demonstrate their prior level of knowledge, assess whether or not they will be admitted to the master’s degree and determine the training supplements to be taken.
The test will be taken during the admission process, either in person or online, and shall include questions related to Accounting and Finance, Marketing and Economics and Strategic Management.
Selection criteria
The following assessment criteria shall be applied in the candidate selection procedure (max. 5 points):
- Alignment of the candidate’s profile with the programme’s objectives and contents (up to 2.5 points). The assessment of the alignment of the candidate’s profile will be carried out on the basis of the result obtained in the access test (if they have to take it) and of a written presentation with a maximum length of two pages in which the candidate shall set out their alignment with the profile of the master’s degree and their professional goals.
- Academic record: this will be assessed in accordance with the UAB regulations for the assessment of academic records (up to 1.5 points).
- Professional experience: professional experience will be considered an advantage, especially if obtained in the field of Sports Management (up to 0.5 points).
- The content of two letters of recommendation (0.5 points). A letter from a university lecturer and another letter from the professional area will be considered an advantage.
Complementary training
Candidates who do not demonstrate that they hold a degree included in GROUP 1 may have to take training supplements in the field of accounting, finance, strategic management and/or marketing.
