UAB researchers have published The Third Half, towards the creation of healthier research careers, a compendium of international articles on mental health problems and well-being management affecting young researchers and on evidence-based strategies to help promote positive mental health and reduce stigma. These strategies include the University programme "Tercer Temps", which has been running successfully for the past three years.
The UAB has launched a new campaign to raise funds to study a gene therapy for adenylsuccinate lyase deficiency (ADSL), a rare genetic disease suffered by about 80 children in the world, including two brothers from Cambrils, Anton and Andreu.
The UAB launches the Arquimedes Accelerator, an initiative to give support to UAB spin-offs based on tools and specialised sessions that can boost their growth and improve their business model.
This new edition of the entrepreneurial programme of the UAB Parc de Recerca, aimed at researchers and PhD students, will focus on designing and developing innovative ways of creating more balanced and sustainable ecosystems. The application period is now open for those interested in submitting their proposals.
The programme, promoted by the UAB Research Park and the UAB Separation Techniques Group, with the support of the NEX-LABS project, has ended with the presentation of the four finalist projects.
Over 300 researchers, 150 businesspeople and 60 entrepreneurs met during the UAB's Innovation Week, which took place from 16 to 20 October in different areas of the campus. The event served to bring the University's innovative and technological ecosystem closer to the surrounding communities, as well as provide a space in which to debate and reflect upon issues such as synergies between artificial intelligence and music, and women entrepreneurs.
The UAB launches the Smart Campus Challenge programme is an initiative open to all members of the community to propose projects which can work on solutions to different challenges identified on campus, implement these solutions and make them extensive to the rest of the region. Registration now open to those interested in participating.
