Martí Olaya Collection
Martí Olaya Galceran (1927-2014). He develops his professional activity in the banking and business world. At the same time, he performs a relevant cultural task, especially in the promotion of theater and children's literature in Catalan. Very linked to Cavall Fort journal, it has been part of the writing board since its creation. He directs the collections Theater and Theater Workshop: team game published by La Galera. From 1992 to 1993 he coordinates the journal for children's literature Faristol. Writer of childhood and youth stories, he also makes some translations from French to Catalan. Among his stories are:A la vora del mar, Terra endins, Contes tendres, Una sargantana prenent el sol. He regularly collaborates in newspapers and magazines, such as Avui, La Vanguardia, Diari de Sant Cugat, Serra d'Or, Revista de Sants, etc. Of his cultural activity, it is also worth mentioning his work at the head of several entities: Patron of the Universal Foundation of La Sardana, President of the Fundació Orfeó de Sants and the Fundació Folch i Torres, member of the Secretariat of Entitats de Sants , Hostafrancs and La Bordeta, founder member of the local section of Òmnium Cultural de Sant Cugat del Vallès. In 1986 he received the Jaume I Prize for Civic Action from the Fundació Lluis Carulla and in 1976 he received the Crítica Serra d'Or Prize of theatre and the Dramatic Group Prize of Barcelona.
Description of the collection: Olaya collection basically gathers the documentation related to the cultural management carried out by the producer of the collection, diverse correspondence and own and other people's work. It also includes a selection of books and journals.
