Interlibrary loan for UAB members
The Interlibrary Loan service allows UAB members (PDI, students, staff, UAB Sphere, Amics de la UAB and Universitat a l'abast) to borrow physical material from other libraries and universities, as well as obtain copies of articles or chapters from titles that are not held by UAB libraries or are not provided through the PUC.
The Interlibrary Loan Service will always prioritize the option that allows you to obtain the document for free. In the case of that a payment rate is applied, the cheapest will always be chosen.
The current rates for the interlibrary loan service of the UAB Library Service were approved in the economic commission of the Social Council on February 17, 2023.

Documents that come from institutions with a free agreement.
Digital documents that come from Spanish universities that are members of the ICAC agreement and from Catalan institutions that are members of the AIA.
Loan of monographs that come from CBUC institutions.
Level 2.
Digital documents that come from institutions with which there is no free agreement.
Loan of monographs that come from Spanish institutions without a free agreement.
Level 3.
Digital documents where the rates of the provider institution are applied. The user will always be informed in advance of the rate.
Loan of monographs that come from institutions of the European Union and other countries.
But certain materials are often difficult to obtain: reference works (encyclopedias, dictionaries...), audio/visual material, reserve collection, rare books, paper maps and print thesis collection.
To place a request you will need to complete an inter-library loan request form entering your ID number (NIU) and password. If you are using the ILL for the first time you must register previously and wait until you receive a confirmation message within 24 workdays (except Christmas and Easter).
It is recommended to provide as much bibliographic data as possible.
Once the request has been generated, the application will allow you to check the status of your requests, download the requested reproductions, or contact the Service.
You can request a renewal by email (pi@uab.cat) or through the interlibrary loan platform by entering your NIU and password and selecting the "request extension" option.
The average receipt time for physical documents is 6 days and 3 days for digital documents. In the case of physical documents, the library indicated to collect the document will notify you by email of the arrival of the document.
The original documents will always be collected from the library indicated by the user at the time of making the request.
Payment by bank transfer: you will receive an email notification of the amount of your request and the current account number (IBAN ES96 2100 0424 3202 0002 5001 of Caixabank) where you can make the deposit. Indicate the request number in the concept. It is necessary to make the payment before collecting the documents.
The PDI and the PAS can make the payment by internal charge to a cost center.
Documents are loaned for a period of at least 15 days.
Documents excluded from loan can only be consulted at the central point of Interlibrary Loan.
