Structure of the exams

General part: each exercise is scored from 0 to 10.

  1. Text commentary: commentary on a topic of current affairs. The aim of this part of the exam is to evaluate capacity for reasoning and competences in written expression, reading, interpretation of information and ability to produce a written discourse.
  2. Catalan language.
  3. Spanish language.

The validity of the grade for this part of the exam is indefinite.

Personal interview: Those who have passed the general part of the exam may request a personal interview. This can only be requested for a single course, faculty or school and university. That university does not necessarily have to be the one at which the general part of the exam was taken. The Academic Management office of the faculty or school offering the course for which the interview was requested will contact applicants to inform them of the date and time of the interview.

The personal interview qualification will be valid for three years (the year in which it is passed and another two) and only for the same degree study and for the same university where it was passed. It is essential that within the registration period, the candidate makes a request to the University Admissions Office through the Contact Mailbox and requests the validity of the interview for the current year's call. Once the request is received from the OAU, you will be informed of the procedures you must complete. This procedure must be completed within the registration period.

All students over 45s who have passed the test must formalize the interview request from June 4 to 6, 2024 through the University access portal.

Results and grades

To pass the exams you must achieve a grade of 4 or over for each of the exercises and the arithmetic average of the three exercises must be 5 or over. Candidates must also achieve a ‘pass’ grade in the personal interview.

If you take the exams at the upcoming session you will be able to see your grades from 14 May 2024 on the University access portal. If you have not requested a grades review you will be able to download a certificate of your exam results with a secure verification code (CSV), from the University access portal from 14 May 2024.
